Resident Youth Support Workers - Temporary Assignment, ongoing opportunities for the right applicants. 

We are currently seeking dynamic and motivated individuals who are eager to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Exciting opportunities await Residential Youth Support Workers to join our clients' expanding team, here in Cairns.

About You:

The ideal candidate for this role will possess enthusiasm, empathy, and a compassionate outlook. They should be dedicated to cultivating a positive and secure environment for young individuals, and be able to demonstrate exemplary verbal and written communication skills. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting young individuals in their homes.
  • Following protocols and procedures.
  • Planning, leading, and joining in suitable activities.
  • Helping manage the behaviours of young people.
  • Working with young individuals to build life skills in a structured and supportive way.
  • Taking part in daily household tasks and preparing meals.
  • Undertaking administrative tasks like shift notes and incident reports.
  • Being flexible with your schedule for weekdays, sleepovers, weekends, and awake shifts.
  • Handling crisis situations confidently and professionally.
  • Collaborating with the House Team Leader and being a team player as well as working independently when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a Certificate IV or Diploma in Child, Youth & Family Intervention
  • WWC Paid Blue Card 
  • NDIS Worker Screening (Yellow) Card 
  • Australian Federal Police Check completed within the last 12 months.
  • Current valid driver's license (Green provisional plates or higher).
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • Reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
  • COVID-19 vaccination certificate or valid medical exemption.
  • LSC 2 Check.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • A positive, can do attitude.
