About the role

We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Processing Gynaecologic, Non-Gynaecologic, and Veterinary specimens for microscopic evaluation. Thin-prep and Surepath processing, manual staining, operating automated stainers, machine maintenance, cover-slipping and labelling. Disposal of biohazardous materials, chemical waste, sharps, and other potentially hazardous materials. Maintain, operate and trouble shoot equipment, quality control, safety and preventative maintenance logs. Liasing with other departments and service providers. Trouble shooting. Answering phone queries. Filing of slides and paperwork

About you 

To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:

A Tertiary qualification in Laboratory Science. The appointee must be reliable, flexible, willing to work as part of a team, follow instructions but also be able to work independently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and accurate computer skills. Attention to detail is pertinent. Work rotating shifts including weekends. Rostered days for this position will be from Tuesday to Saturday. Initially during the training period Monday to Friday will be the rostered work days. Previous experience and a sound knowledge of WH&S is advantageous.  Ideally applicants will have experience within a Medical field or laboratory.
