ConocoPhillips’ Australian headquarters are located in Brisbane. Our focus is supplying Australian customers with natural gas and international customers with liquefied natural gas. We do this through our 47.5 percent interest in the Australia Pacific LNG joint venture, one of the largest producers of natural gas in eastern Australia. ConocoPhillips Australia also operates the Australia Pacific LNG liquefied natural gas facility near Gladstone. We are also an exploration company, with ongoing exploration occurring in the Bowen and Surat Basin in Central Queensland and new exploration in the Otway Basin along the southern coast of Australia to identify natural gas reserves for supply to Australian customers.
The Gladstone Operations Team is seeking new Operations Technicians to join the team at the Australia Pacific LNG facility on Curtis Island, Gladstone. Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, our Operations Technicians are key members of the on-site team, conducting key scheduled and unplanned operational activities in various focal roles as prioritised by business needs. They will collaborate with peer area operators to provide resolution for technical issues within their accountability boundaries.
Operations Technicians will be accountable for, but not limited to:
Undertake routine assigned and prioritized activities as directed and within their level of competency Maintain assigned area competencies, knowledge and experience to provide and sustain shift capability and flexibility Optimise process conditions and parameters, contribute to operations cost efficiency drivers within level of influence and adhere to all operating compliance procedures taking a proactive approach to update procedures to reflect best practice Report any equipment defects via SAP, ensure the plant is operated within process operational guidelines (POG) and operating envelopes Maintain emergency response (ER) skills and capability, ensure ownership of facility housekeeping and communicate effectively in shift handovers Member of the site emergency response team

You will also bring to the role:
Alignment to ConocoPhillips’ SPIRIT values Year 10 or equivalent education certificate Ability to work a 24/7 rotating shift pattern including night shift Basic computing skills, including SAP
The following is preferred, but not essential:
A certificate in Process Plant Technology Trade Qualification (Mechanical or EI Discipline) Heavy Industrial Process Operations experience in industries including Oil and Gas, Chemical Manufacturing, Power Generation, Minerals Processing
