About the Role

Responsible for the overriding authority of the vessel, crew and passengers whilst on board with respect to the safe operations, safety of passengers and crew and protection of environmental assets.  All vessels, systems, and equipment are to be managed and maintained to the highest, safest standard of repair, achieving excellence in both a visual and functional capacity.  This role will also will manage the deckhands, ensuring a safe and positive customer experience and will seek continuous improvement in all maintenance, presentation, and operational capacities.

About You

 You will have an enthusiastic attitude, who enjoys being hands-on and strategic, is self-motivated to achieve goals, working in a dynamic & supportive team.  You will have a fun and friendly attitude This once-in-a-lifetime position will be located in the beautiful Whitsundays. A flexible approach to working hours is required regarding weekends and public holidays. Some heavy lifting and exposure to varying weather conditions are applicable.

The successful applicant will need the following:

  • Display leadership qualities including effective communication, team-building and training, motivation, problem-solving, time management, delegation techniques 
  • Work efficiently and effectively under pressure
  • An understanding of maintenance and marine mechanical, particularly outboards
  • Adopt a flexible and adaptable approach to the role
  • Safe approach to vessel operations with a passion for preserving the environment.
  • Unrestricted Master V MED III or MED II with two years minimum experience in open water
  • Responsible service of alcohol
  • Senior First Aid certification, CPR and Oxygen
  • Current drivers licence
