DESCRIPTION

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. • Do you love being part of tackling new business challenges using cutting edge technology?
• Do you have a history of creatively solving traditional business challenges?
• Can you do it at pace and at scale?

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Solution Architect to work with our Enterprise customers and other AWS teams to craft cloud-based solutions, primarily in Melbourne, Australia.

At AWS, customer obsession is at our Core. We are trusted advisors to our customers and partners and work with AWS sales, business development, solutions architecture and product teams to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.

AWS Solution Architects possess customer facing skills that allow us to represent Amazon well within a customer’s environment and drive discussions with senior personnel within the company, as well as a technical background that enables us to easily interact and give guidance to software developers and architects.

As a trusted customer advocate, you will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build focus and broad use of AWS. Your ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.

*Here are some other qualities we are looking for:*

Be great fun to work with. At AWS, we have a credo of “Work hard. Have fun. Make history”. In this role, you will love what you do, and instinctively know how to make work fun. You will be dynamic and creative, and willing to take on any challenge and make a big impact.

Be self-motivated with a hunger to share your knowledge, continue to learn, and lead the industry in designing cloud based architectures.

Key job responsibilities
• You will be responsible for creating and executing the technical strategy alongside sales and business development as we work to delight our Enterprise customers through a deep relationship with AWS.
• As a key member of the Solution Architecture team, ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform
• Partner with customers and several AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that provide solutions to solve customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community including authoring or otherwise contributing to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers and blogs.

A day in the life
As a Solution Architect, you will go beyond the technical solution architecture and work with the account teams, specialists and partners to deliver a practical solution that will accelerate the customers business outcome. You will also contribute to uplifting your knowledge through the broad catalogue of accreditation and education opportunities that AWS offer.

About the team

We value work-life harmony. Achieving success at work should never come at the expense of sacrifices at home, which is why flexible work hours and arrangements are part of our culture. When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there’s nothing we can’t achieve in the cloud.

We’re continuously raising our performance bar as we strive to become Earth’s Best Employer. That’s why you’ll find endless knowledge-sharing, mentorship and other career-advancing resources here to help you develop into a better-rounded professional.

That’s okay We hire people who have a passion for learning and are curious. You will be supported in your career development here at AWS. You will have plenty of opportunities to build your technical, leadership, business and consulting skills. Your onboarding will set you up for success, including a combination of formal and informal training. You’ll also have a chance to gain AWS certifications and access mentorship programs.
