The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a self-motivated individuals to join our growing Maintenance team and provide support to our mechanical tradespeople. All roles will be on a full-time basis and will require a basic level of mechanical knowledge with a strong willingness to learn. 

Experience in a similar role and environment is preferred but not necessary as we are willing to train and develop the right individuals for the position.

With the right set of skills and qualifications, we are offering attractive rates and allowances that include;

  1. $30.33 per hour 
  2. When taking Annual Leave, you will be paid your hourly rate plus the Annual Leave Loading of 17.5%.
  3. Full time, permanent role with career progression within Busways
  4. All work uniforms and any/all necessary PPE will be provided

Role responsibilities

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role requires you to have a mature and professional approach with excellent communication skills. Your main duties will include:

  • Performing minor repairs and service of vehicles and equipment, in a timely manner, within your skill level and experience under the supervision of a qualified tradesperson
  • Moving buses within the yard, parking and refuelling them
  • Pick-up and delivery of parts and other objects as required by the Workshop Supervisor or Leading Hand
  • General yard/workshop cleaning and maintenance
  • Store duties as and when required by the supervisor
  • Performing other general, non-trades services as directed
  • Adhering to all Work, Health & Safety requirements whilst performing work duties
  • Maintaining clean workshop practices

 The successful applicant will have:

  • A current unrestricted NSW drivers licence (MR class or higher preferred)
  • The ability to perform tasks which require heavy lifting
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and company policies
  • A willingness to work a variety of shifts
  • Sound level of verbal and written communication
  • Experience in working in a team environment on daily maintenance and repair schedules
  • Confidence in using computers and software packages
  • Be proactive with a drive to finding better ways to continuously improve and be adaptable in a dynamic and growing team
  • We are looking for real, not perfect individuals that are passionate and invested in achieving outcomes
  • Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have working rights in Australia

Our workshop staff play a critical role within the business to ensure our ever-evolving fleet of vehicles are continually maintained to the highest standard to keep our staff and passengers safe out on the road.

This role will provide ongoing training and support to employees based on their level of experience to enable you to meet our standards. All work uniforms and any/all necessary PPE will be provided in accordance with company procedures.
