About the role

Brisbane Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse/Clinical Nurse to join our CSSD team on a full time basis. In this fast paced and varied environment you will utilise your excellent clinical skills and customer service skills to maintain the highest operational standards of the sterilisation service.

Set at the top of Wickham Terrace, Brisbane’s busiest medical precinct, above the Roma Street Parklands in the heart of the CBD, Brisbane Private Hospital is an acute and rehabilitation hospital with 181 beds, 17 operating theatres and dedicated surgical, ICU and rehabilitation wards. Brisbane Private Hospital specialises in Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Spinal, ENT, Pain and Rehabilitation with additional specialties including Plastics, Urology, General Surgery, Gynaecology and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Brisbane Private Hospital also delivers a leading private drug and alcohol program, Damascus Health Services, from its dedicated drug and alcohol rehabilitation unit.

As a Clinical Nurse your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing evidenced based nursing care
  • Providing clinical expertise and depth to the plastics theatre teams
  • Liaising with the multidisciplinary team
  • Ensuring patient and staff safety
  • Ensuring eLearning and mandatory training is completed on a regular basis
  • Liaising with surgeons regarding equipment

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum  5 years acute hospital experience as a Registered/Clinical Nurse
  • Clinical experience in a perioperative environment
  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Commitment to Quality Patient Care
  • Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Works well independently and within a team
  • Sound knowledge of AS/NZ 4187 2014
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instrumentation
  • Experience with tracking systems
