• Hourly Pay: Up to $52.87 + super

• Hours Per Week: 38 (Mon-Fri 7:30am-4pm)

Join our team in Pakenham, where we're dedicated to creating a thriving community. We're looking for an Arboricultural Officer to join us on a casual basis for an exciting opportunity to make a difference.

Responsibilities & Skills:

As an Arboricultural Officer, you'll be responsible for:

• Resolving conflicts and problems in face-to-face and telephone interactions with the community.
• Assisting in developing maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures for vegetation management, ensuring compliance with service levels.
• Managing external contractors, keeping the Team Leader - Arboriculture informed of work progress and processing payments.
• Facilitating on-site issue resolution and authorizing corrective strategies as needed.
• Ensuring arboricultural programs align with Council's budget and specifications, and assisting in resident and contractor notifications and consultations.
• Providing specialist advice and reports on Council tree matters to stakeholders.
• Contributing to data collection for vegetation management programs and sustainable target objectives.
• Evaluating non-routine customer requests related to street/reserve trees and providing detailed recommendations.
• Assisting in budget preparation and contract review/development for tree management.
• Staying updated on developments and legislation changes in tree maintenance.
• Responding during and after extreme weather events, coordinating contractors and applying for Natural Disaster Financial Assistance.

Skills Required:

• Arborist experience
