The City of Cockburn is establishing a pool of suitableapplicants for Swim Instructors. Appointments will be made on acasual basis. Applicants assessed as suitable but not offeredimmediate work will be placed in a casual pool, which will operatefor three months from the date of the initial placement in thepool, from which further employment opportunities may beoffered.

Cockburn ARC is the City of Cockburn’s Premier RegionalSports and Aquatic Centre located in Cockburn Central West with avision of getting more people, more active, more often.

It is one of the largest facilities of its kind in Australia,providing leading edge facilities and services that the Cockburncommunity can be proud of and is the new home of the FremantleFootball Club.

The $109M facility along with the partnership with FremantleFootball Club and Curtin University has enabled the City to delivera world class facility with overall footprint of 23,000m2.

The Position

The Swim ARCademy team is looking for dynamic, enthusiasticswimming instructors to deliver our innovative learn to swimprogram. Applicants must possess a passion for aquatic education,along with exceptional customer service skills. The Swim ARCademyprogram has a unique vision of swim for fun, fitness andcompetition through the development of each individual skill to thehighest possible standard. This is an inclusive program withdedicated teaching pools catering to all community members.

These positions are being offered on a casual basis and hours ofwork may include early mornings, late evenings and weekends.

To become part of our amazing team you will have:

Experience in delivering quality aquatic instruction, teaching techniques and lesson planning and student assessment. Skills in managing students of various ages and abilities in an aquatic learning environment. Knowledge of pool supervision requirements and water safety. Current Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualifications. Current Teacher of Infant and Preschool aquatics or willingness to attain. Current Working with Children Check. Current First Aid and CPR certificate. A friendly and engaging nature. Drive to deliver our service vision “outstanding service people talk about”.
