As the Unit Manager you will provide clinical, professional and managerial leadership for our ward-based multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high quality care within the framework of the multi-disciplinary team and by working clinically as a member of the team you will ensure a positive patient experience.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day operation of the service, reporting to the Rehab Lead and the Head of Clinical quality.

Hold direct line management responsibility for the senior nursing team and by proxy the wider nursing and 24/7 support worker workforce.

With support from the wider multi-professional workforce, aim to oversee the daily needs of the patient cohort and ensuring safe service provision.

Ability to troubleshoot and react responsively and appropriately to daily challenges to service provision, including staffing challenges, patient concern and patient safety issues.

Demonstrate positive risk management and champion the Home First and last 1000 days principles in supporting patient flow through the bedded unit.

Promote and adopt a positive learning environment (with support) to demonstrate proactive management of patient safety themes and give quality assurance.

Aim to support the delivery of high quality harm-free care with oversight of standards of service, KPIs, CQUINs and other audited service targets.
