About the role 

The City of Parramatta is seeking a highly motivated Development Engineer to join our dynamic team of technical specialists, responsible for engineering assessment of development applications, subdivision instruments and the provision of engineering advice.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing engineering advice to the public and staff across the organisation
  • Identify engineering issues and negotiate solutions with both highly motivated and resourced customers and customers with limited understanding of development processes, within complex and sometimes ambiguous guidelines
  • Undertake pre-lodgement and development application referrals

About You 

As the ideal candidate you will bring the ability to communicate, negotiate, build relationships and influence others using excellent communication, teamwork, presentation and negotiation skills. With strong project, technology and time management skills you act in a manner that builds team unity, collaboration and cooperation.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in civil engineering
  • Current motor vehicle Driver Licence

Skills:

  • Have an understanding of DRAINS software to a basic level
  • Operate MUSIC software to a basic level
  • Operate TRAPEZE software to a basic level
  • Operate GIS software to an intermediate level

What’s on offer 

We are offering an attractive salary from $98,129 to $108,038 plus 11% superannuation.
