The Company:

This multinational company, known for its diversified operations and presence across multiple industries, is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join their tax team on a 6-month contract. The company is focused on maintaining a strong internal tax function and ensuring compliance across its various operations. This role offers an opportunity to work with a leading organisation and gain exposure to cross-border tax matters.

The Role:

Reporting to the Tax Manager, this position plays a key role in managing and optimising tax processes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the preparation of lodging VAT returns for South Africa.
  • Manage withholding tax requirements for international sites.
  • Convert data to daily exchange rates and calculate international sites.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of FBT returns.
  • Work out tax instalments for both international sites based on projected values.
  • Handle payment times reporting and compile monthly financial reports.
  • Assist with responding to tax return documentation requests and ensure proper record-keeping.
  • Support tax effect analysis by pulling necessary reports, including Trial Balance and asset data from the system.
  • Document and streamline key tax processes to enhance efficiency.

About You:

  • Senior Accountant-level experience with solid tax knowledge.
  • Proven experience in preparing VAT returns, company tax calculations, and FBT returns.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
  • The ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.
