The Role
 
The Boilermaker is responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, metal components or other material structures for power station construction.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine the requirements for the job.
  • Use various hand and power tools, such as welding torches, grinders, saws, and drills, to cut, shape, and join metal pieces.
  • Install and repair components and or various other material structures.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on workshop components and other equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Ensure that all work is done according to safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Communicate with team members to ensure the project is completed on time and to the required standards.
  • Keep a record of all work performed and materials used.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training programs, ensuring adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for compliance with OHS policies.
  • Work collaboratively with other technicians and support staff to ensure all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.

 About You:

  • Relevant Trade Certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a boilermaker or in a related field.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, sketches, and engineering specifications.
  • Proficient in Mig and Tig welding
  • Mechanical fitting experience desirable.
  • Proficient in using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials and equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
