Mater Private Hospital Townsville are seeking dynamic and experienced General Surgical Clinical Nurse to join the Perioperative team You will be based at our Pimlico Campus working within our operating Suites . The successful applicants will secure a 12month fixed term contract covering maternity leave.
Salary range: $54.21 - $58.08 (RN level 2) per hour plus superannuation and Salary Packaging up to $15,900
Our Perioperative Services department at Mater Private Hospital Townsville (MPHT) provides surgical services across 16 theatres and caters for adults and paediatrics with a variety of surgical specialities. MPHT boasts brand new state of the art theatre facilities, a catheterization laboratory and separate onsite day site surgery facilities.
What you’ll be doing
Responsibilities of the role include:
Be a role-model in all aspects of leadership and promote a positive team culture within the unit Leadership and coordination of the Day Surgery unit Demonstrate professionalism at all times Provision and coordination of care including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care Monitoring outcomes and initiating/advocating changes to processes and practices Participating in the review, development and implementation of relevant policies, procedures and clinical protocols Participates and promotes clinical meetings in a multidisciplinary settingAbout you
As the successful candidate for this role, you must be an experienced Day Surgery Nurse with experience across all specialties including Endoscopy. The successful applicant will also provide support and assistance to the Perioperative Services Manager to help ensure the smooth running of the Perioperative Department.
To be successful in your application you will have:
Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions) Relevant post-graduate qualifications and/or clinical experience in relevant fields of nursing will be highly regarded. Have knowledge and experience of Day Surgery Prior comparable experience in a leadership/supervisory role in a health care environment Demonstrated ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team Basic computer skills Strong knowledge of continuous improvement process, coupled with the proven ability to initiate, coordinate and evaluate quality improvement measures Demonstrated knowledge and application of Workplace Health and Safety, Infection Control and Clinical Risk policies are also of value.Why join us?
