G.James Safety Glass (Victoria) has commissioned a brand new state of the art "Industry 4.0" automated glass processing facility on our current site in Campbellfield, Melbourne. We are growing our team and seek Glass Utility Workers plus a Glass Cutter to support our double glazing units, toughening furnace lines, processing and dispatch areas.

Day shift (6am to 2:20pm) and Afternoon shift (2pm to 10:10pm) available.

The Benefits:

  • Permanent ongoing work Monday – Friday, 38 hours per week
  • Base rate of $34.36 per hour + shift allowance for afternoon shift
  • + additional weekly allowance $45.32 (includes laundry allowance)
  • Glass cutting skills may attract a higher level and higher wages.
  • Monthly paid Rostered Day Off (RDO)
  • EBA rates and entitlements including paid income protection insurance

About you: 
Glass Utility Workers - This position require manual handling of glass products, and operating hand tools, hence successful applicants must be physically strong and fit with other requirements including but not limited to:

  • Previous experience in factory or warehouse with manual handling (experience with glass preferred but not essential)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Ability to get the get the job done safely and accurately
  • Willing to learn and take direction

Glass Cutter - The position requires highly motivated and skilled Cutting Table Operators to operate our float and laminated glass cutting tables. Other requirements for role include but are not limited to:

  • An understanding of the operation of both float and laminated cutting tables (preferred)
  • High attention to detail, quality and safety
  • Demonstrated ability to read production programs
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimise processes to achieve the highest quality outcomes
  • A strong work ethic and ability to work within a small team
  • Clear communication skills
