As we continue to expand our organisation, we have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Specialist to join the team on a permanent basis.

You will be joining our evolving Procurement Team through an exciting period of change, innovation and transformation and will support and work closely with the Head of Procurement and assist in partnering and influencing the broader SCC business, in particular Care Operations and carrying out end – to end category strategies and market engagements, starting from spend analysis through to negotiation, contract execution and supplier relationship management where needed across all categories.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of end-to-end procurement strategies designed to improve value and minimise costs
  • Effectively partner with both internal and external stakeholders and contribute positively to teamwork to achieve operational outcomes and promote a positive SCC workplace culture.
  • Partner and collaborate with all relevant stakeholders, both internal and external to ensure effective and efficient outcomes
  • Comply with and contribute to Work Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Effectively partnering with both internal and external stakeholders and taking accountability for assigned procurement activities and projects
  • Identifying and implementing effective strategies to maintain continuity of goods and services for assigned projects, categories, and suppliers
  • Implement, and execute procurement processes and strategies to optimise and continually improve the performance of the Procurement function and SCC business
  • Lead or support as assigned end to end market engagements including opportunity identification, baselining, RFx’s, negotiations, through to approvals and contract execution
  • Provide operational, analytical, and commercial support for the SCC business across any procurement related activities, supplier relationships, escalations, or any other procurement enquiries
  • Compliance/process improvement and any other projects as assigned

Selection Criteria:

  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent residency essential
  • 6 + years working in a procurement or commercial position or similar
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at various levels
  • Be able to provide actionable insights through research, collating and market intelligence
  • Strong understanding of tenders, contracts and the overall tender and contract process
  • Energetic and self-motivated individual who enjoys not only working in a team, but also having autonomy to complete your role.
  • Customer-focus with proven ability to influence, communicate and negotiate at strategic and tactical levels
  • Advanced interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • High level of organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results within pressing timeframes
  • Demonstrated ability to apply strategic level thinking, problem solving and decision-making to the resolution of complex problems
  • Knowledge of legislative and reporting requirements relating to the Modern Slavery Act

Desirables:

  • Demonstrated competencies in and an understanding of the Health, Aged Care or Not-for-Profit Sectors
  • Experience in implementation of Contract Management System, Spend Analytics or similar
