Mining

The mining industry has a pivotal role to play in the green transition, and WSP's team of dedicated mining professionals are supporting the industry in delivering the metals and minerals required for a greener future, in a sustainable and responsible manner. What you’ll do:

  • Developing groundwater models and drafting technical reports.
  • Providing hydrogeological technical advice to internal and external clients.
  • Mentor junior groundwater modellers.
  • Drive innovation in our modelling practice with new techniques, workflows and ideas.
  • Review models and support groundwater modellers from within our Queensland team as well as across our mining business. 

About you:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology or Geosciences.
  • Extensive professional hydrogeological experience, preferably within a consultancy.
  • Excellent technical report writing and data interpretation skills.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to build internal and external relationships. 
  • Experience with diverse range of groundwater modelling software and calibration utilities, with a background in MODFLOW (e.g. MODFLOW-USG, Flopy) preferred.
  • Experience with uncertainty analysis.
  • Experience using GIS and other software to visualise complex model outputs.
  • Experience in coding to support pre-processing and post-processing tasks.
