Job Description

  • Setting up workstations and operating kitchen equipment.
  • Following recipes and set menus.
  • Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
  • Preparing and cooking food to a high standard.
  • Adhering to and enforcing all food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Monitoring stock levels.
  • Keeping up to date with cooking techniques and methods.

Qualifications

  • Commercial Cookery qualifications OR Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.  
  • Must have experience in Japanese Cuisine. Proficient in crafting sushi, tempura, maki, and more. 
  • Reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Good knowledge of health, safety & sanitisation procedures.
  • Must have a genuine passion for producing great food coupled with excellent organisational skills. 
  • Must have excellent communication skills and a strong customer service focus, as well as be professionally presented and groomed at all times.
  • Must be a team player with flexibility and availability to work nights, weekends, public holidays.
  • Must be able to work calmly and effectively in an open, fast-paced kitchen and interact with dining guests.


Additional Information

  • Highly Competitive Hourly Rate: $33.89 - $39 + Super. 
  • Casual position, available for 2-3 evenings weekly.
