What’s the opportunity? 

At HammondCare Waratah, you will be part of an expert team that places residents at the heart of their care. HammondCare has a unique model of care that prioritises individual needs through a relationship-based approach.

This is a part-time role with the availability of flexible roster patterns to enable work life balance. 

What will I be doing? 

  • Providing personal care, such as helping people to use the shower and toilet and get ready for the day 
     
  • Building relationships with residents and help them to feel at home by spending time with them and learning about their life and what’s important to them 
     
  • Helping residents to engage with life through activities that align with their hobbies and interests 
     
  • Recognising changes in residents’ health and wellbeing, and responding appropriately (including reporting) 
     
  • Completing ongoing training to further develop your skills 

You will receive an onsite orientation and buddy shifts with an established team member as you start in the role.  

What do I need to be successful? 

  • Professional experience in caring for older people (essential) 
  • Knowledge or experience in caring for people with cognitive symptoms, such as dementia (preferred) 
  • A healthcare qualification completed or in progress, such as Cert III or Cert IV in Aged Care (preferred) 
  • Patience and empathy, with a passion for improving quality of life for older people 
  • Value teamwork but also be able to work independently and show initiative 
  • Flexibility to commit to a range of shifts – AM/PM/night rosters available 
  • Unlimited rights to work in Australia (preferred)
