Essential qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent culinary qualifications or experience.

  • Current Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain one).

Essential skills and attributes:

  • Craft balanced, nutritious meals tailored for young children’s developmental needs.

  • Design rotating menus that cater to diverse dietary requirements (think gluten-free, dairy-free, halal).

  • Prepare meals with a keen awareness of food allergies and intolerances.

  • Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene protocols.

  • Work efficiently within budget constraints while delivering tasty dishes.

  • Punctuality is key—meal prep must align with our schedules

Desirable skills:

  • Previous experience in a Chef or Cook role, especially in early childhood settings.

  • Knowledge of nutritional requirements for young children and understanding common allergies.

  • Create culturally diverse dishes to make mealtime an educational adventure

  • Familiarity with sustainable food practices and sourcing locally.
