The Role  

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be part of a high performing team responsible for the maintenance and repair of plant and equipment. 

You will work in a high performing team responsible for the ongoing maintenance, performance, and safety, supporting PLC controlled systems, a variety of packaging plant and some of the latest servo-controlled Corrugated and Converting Machines. 

What you’ll do:

Work on a rotating roster, maintaining and helping to improve our efficiency and reliability. Manage preventive maintenance schedules, attend breakdowns, minimising downtime and implementing constant improvement initiatives. To play an active part in installation and overhaul of key equipment. Maintain safe work & operating practices; and maintain a high standard of housekeeping. Record maintenance activities with maintenance software program daily. Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of all Visy policies, procedures, and legislation.

Essential qualities we are looking for:

A background in mechanical applications and manufacturing process experience. Basic oxy acetylene gas experience as a minimum together with mig/tig/stick welding skills. You’re analytical and keenly focused on process and continuous improvement. Mechanical trade qualifications, a valid forklift license and are computer literate. Experience working in a fast paced, high-volume environment while maintaining the required safety standards. Good communication and reporting skills. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a “get the job done” approach every day.
