The Role
Reporting to the Branch General Manager with a dotted line to the General Manager, Engineering & Production Services, the plant Maintenance Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of effective, efficient, and pro-active maintenance technicians to ensure maximum efficiency and up time of all equipment at the branch. The role will be based at Enfield.
The key responsibilities are:
- In partnership with Production, you will ensure that all plant and equipment is running efficiently and in safe work order;
- Ensure that preventative maintenance is completed in line with the schedule and tracked in CMMS;
- Endeavours to keep all machinery downtime to a minimum to support the achievement of DIFOT at the branch daily;
- Work is allocated to each team member in a manner that both programmed and adhoc jobs are completed safely and to the right standard and in a timely fashion;
- Proactively engages in regular plant assessment to identify efficiency improvement initiatives and improved automation opportunities and the creation of supporting Capex submissions
- Leads upgrade and installation projects in partnership with regional engineering team and contractors to ensure that Capex requirements and costs are achieved
- Ensures that the financial management of work is aligned to budgetary requirements each month
- Ensures that the management of contractors on site is completed in line with the WHSMS and budget measures
- Ensures compliance with Wastewater, fire, electricity, asbestos, and boiler regulations and safety guidelines
- Responsible for ensuring guidelines of WHS Management / Housekeeping / 5S are followed
Key Skills and Experience Required
- Tertiary qualifications or Trade qualified (either Mechanical or Electrical) with relevant experience in management of plant maintenance & projects
- Valid Driver’s License
- 5 + years’ experience in the same or a similar position
- Successful management of relationships with suppliers and research & development teams to maintain current industry knowledge and leverage advantages of new developments for the business
- Experiences with Leading and implementing corrective actions from Safety risk assessments (i.e. machine guarding)
- Working knowledge of AUS / NZ Standards for compliance and quality in the production environment
- Working knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principals
- Working knowledge of creating and completed Job Safety/Hazard Analysis for upgrades and installations
