About the role
The Senior Adviser Media & Internal Communication is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the organisation’s brand is protected, highly respected, and consistently aligned with its strategic goals. This role leads and delivers our internal communication strategy, supports our media relations efforts and contributes to our social media strategy.
As a trusted advisor, you will provide strategic counsel to senior leadership and deliver internal communications which help manage complex stakeholder issues or connect Australian Red Cross to purpose. The role is integral to maintaining a cohesive and positive brand narrative across internal and external channels and plays a lead role in ensuring segment messaging is delivered accurately throughout internal communications, proactive media campaigns, reactive responses and crisis management moments.
To support the delivery of our internal communications portfolio, this role will have one direct report and will be responsible for ensuring this resource is actively coached and mentored to effectively deliver outcomes.
What you bring
- Substantial experience in developing and delivering successful media and internal communication strategies, with a proven track record in managing complex communication challenges and crises in a large-scale organisation.
- Substantial experience in project management, leading cross-functional teams, and delivering integrated media and communication campaigns that engage both internal and external audiences across paid, owned, and earned channels.
- Proven ability to execute brand strategies, and present creative and innovative ideas to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Savvy in planning across multiple communication channels (internal/ external comms & social media) with end-to-end delivery for diverse audiences.
