Senior Communications Adviser opportunity

About the role

Government client seeks an experienced Senior Communications Adviser to join them on a short-term assignment for a duration of up to a period of 4-months based in Adelaide CBD with an immediate start.

As the Senior Communications Adviser, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of an effective communications and stakeholder engagement plan for a regional South Australian workforce related project.

You will establish sound and effective working relationships within and across government and non-government bodies, and work in partnership with other key stakeholders to achieve outcomes to meet communications, stakeholder engagement and project milestones.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Communications your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • producing compelling content and storytelling across a range of channels including publications, internal resources, digital communications and social media.
  • using communications to support the effective engagement of internal and external stakeholders in the planning and implementation of a long-term program.
  • providing advice and support to the project team members, senior managers and project steering committee members about the effective engagement of identified target audiences and stakeholders using communication tools.

Experience and Skills

The skills and experience you will need to demonstrate include:

  • Proven experience in the research, development, implementation and evaluation of communication plans.
  • Excellent writing skills and proven ability to deliver content and stories across a range of channels.
  • Experience in managing the development and production of communications collateral such as publications, internal communications, social media, media and web content and promotional materials.
  • Extensive experience in consulting and building partnerships with key stakeholders within and outside of the government sector.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant field e.g. Communications.
  • Sound knowledge of and experience working within government organisations.
  • Understanding of delivery of government services across regional areas highly regarded.
