As a Finance Officer - Accounts Receivable, you will play a fundamental role in maintaining the financial integrity of Dandenong Council through diligent management of our Sundry Debtor System. Your responsibilities will encompass:

Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Sundry Debtor's Master file Issuing invoices, statements, and reminders promptly and efficiently Serving as a key liaison for our debt collection contract, ensuring meticulous monitoring of balances Providing expert assistance to both internal staff and external stakeholders regarding invoice and payment inquiries Contributing to the seamless execution of month-end and year-end tasks related to accounts receivable Offering invaluable support during audits to ensure adherence to established standards and regulations


To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

Certificate III or IV in Accounting or equivalent, demonstrating a sound understanding of accounting principles Proven experience in Accounts Receivable collection, preferably with proficiency in debtor systems Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, essential for preparing reports and engaging with stakeholders Outstanding customer service abilities, including the capacity to navigate challenging interactions with tact and professionalism
