Health, Safety and Risk

Lead and motivate direct reports and others to demand high standards of safety performance
Conduct Safe Act Observations (SAO’s) and correct processes and behaviours as required
Audit Supervisor SAO’s, JSEA’s and MAC 5’s
Ensure risks and hazards within area of responsibility are identified and managed to an acceptable level
Stop the job if an unsafe act or condition is observed and empower subordinates to do the same
Comply with Macmahon incident management procedures especially ensuring notification, reporting and investigation timeframes are achieved

Technical/Operational

Assist in the preparation of mining programs and monitor progress, manning levels and productivity analysis including budget and costs
Assist sites with management of survey data and checks as required
Monitor, control and ensure that all work is conducted in a manner that ensures that the required quality is achieved within budget and timeframe
Ensure that the Acts and Regulations are adhered to at all times
Undertake informal individual feedback reviews with direct reports on each roster
Ensure Macmahon performance review process is followed and development plans are in place for all supervisors and the wider department
Mentor team to ensure effective performance feedback is provided regularly to the entire department
Ensure disciplinary situations are managed in line with the Macmahon’s relevant policies and in consultation with HR
Identify and implement improvement opportunities leading to safer workplaces, increased productivity and increased efficiencies
Oversee problem solving investigations with teams and ensure adequate counter measures are being implemented

Commercial/Financial

Review and liaise with sites on client schedules, equipment allocation and expected costs and revenue
Display working knowledge of contractual KPI’s including key factors impacting on production and financial success
Participate in monthly cost reviews with the Project Manager
Assist in the optimization of the mine plan by providing advice to reduce non-productive time due to unscheduled service, relocation, fleet selection and non-optimal haul profiles
Comply 100% to the supply chain process

People Management

Ensure supervisors on site comply with standards, work procedures and other procedures
Lead and motivate subordinates to demand high standards of performance in all areas to achieve agreed targets
