About the Project:

A 30 ML/d seawater desalination plant will be delivered at Belmont South NSW, to provide weather independent supply to the community in the lower Hunter region.

Seen as one of the largest capital projects in the water sector in Hunter region, the community is expecting a sustainable outcome for the nature of a seawater desalination plant. It is also the first project in Hunter Water pursuing an IS Rating, as part of its Carbon Neutral Strategy by 2035.

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a Senior Safety Advisor to support the Project Safety Manager, and lead a high level of safety performance across the project, supporting the broader project team to achieve it’s deliverables and ensure effective implementation of the safety management plan. Key duties include:

• Work with the project safety manager to implement the Safety Management Plan
• Lead a team of site safety advisors to ensure OHS compliance
• Work with Project Managers and Engineers to assist in the safe planning of high risk works, including logistics, and plant challenges
• Subcontractor safety performance
• Develop a strong safety culture across the projects, and encouraging employee wellbeing and care

About You:

• Previous experience leading the safety management function for complex infrastructure
• Tertiary qualified in Safety, with Cert IV completion
• A team player mindset and good communication with all staff and workforce
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
