To carry out retail, operating and customer care duties in a safe manner in accordance with laid down regulations thus ensuring the safe operation of the railway, protection of ticket revenue and the satisfaction of all customers. To provide an efficient and accurate service to the public in all aspects of the retailing of rail tickets and products and in the provision of travel information. Ensure that passenger access and egress is managed in a safe and timely manner. Ensure that you keep informed of operational standards and any changes which may occur. Wear the correct uniform at all times when on duty, and ensure it is kept clean and smart.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Carry out operational safety duties in accordance with group standards and Island Line instructions. Report safety of the line incidents to the appropriate person. Maintaining schedules in accordance with the train running schedule. Regular inspecting and issuing of tickets, ensuring revenue due to the company is protected. Resolve problems regarding train environment, reporting defects/faults where necessary. Patrol the train regularly to ensure that comfort is maintained by taking the initiative in dealing with instances of feet on seats, smoking in non smoking areas, vandalism etc. Operate doors as appropriate . open doors at stations, observe loading of passengers, close doors and signal driver when safe to depart. Provide assistance to the driver when required. Guide and advise passengers where appropriate on matters such as changes to schedules, and interchange with Fast Cat ferries etc. Always maintain a positive attitude and display positive attitudes towards Island Line and it's improved offering to passengers.Training will be provided to help you reach and maintain the required standards in safety and operational procedures. On average you will work 37 hours per week, including early, late and weekend shifts.
Shift start an finish times vary, they will be between the following hours: 04:00 - 00:00 including bank holidays
