Autonomous technology solutionsarecritical enablers for recreational marine, alleviating barriers for entry and reducing anxiety in traditionally stressful operational scenarios. The benefits of autonomous technologyis enabling users to confidently operate vessels and focus on pleasurable aspects of boating.
The successful Candidate shall
Review and create the technical requirements, best practices, test and validation procedures for the software associated with marine applications, marine connectivity/IOT, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)and autonomous marine vessels
Oversee the software toolchains, interfaces, libraries for applications in the marine environmentwith consideration of current and future Brunswick environment
Oversee and draft requirements for software security, privacy and safety.
Developesoftware that enables advanced HMI, rich user interface, ADAS and autonomous user features and consider flexibility for global architecture requirements and internal/external interfaces of the future as well as rapid learning cycles
Key responsibilities
Full stack, React, Python, Cloud Development
Exepeirence in protocols, BLE and React Native development
Developing a software platform for marine connectivity,autonomy and ADAS features
Author software functional specifications and develop detail design documentation
Strong software background with complex software systems programming and development
Agile software development best practices and tools - jira, github, confluence, automated testing
Required Experience/Skills
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer engineering, computer science or related engineering field
Full stack development in React Native, Kotlin, Android, Java, Python, C/C++, embedded developmentproficiency
Minimum of 5-10+ years of experience in a software development and software architecture role
Experience with embedded realtime software development and final project delivery
Experience with IOT connectedand secureproducts and protocols – WiFi, BLE, CAN, NMEA2K
Experience with SDK development,
Experience with requirement and issue tracking tools
Strong Critical Thinking and communications skills, verbally and written.
Preferred Experience/Skills
Experience with software related safety standards such as ISO functional safety, MISRA or other functional safety standards and frameworks
B.S/M.S. in computer engineering, computer science or related engineering field
Experience with SDK development, platforming, autonomous/ADAS/propulsion software development and final project delivery
Experience with ADAS and autonomous sensors such as sonar, radar, lidar, and cameras
Experience in the marine environment
This position will be based out of the Chicagoland area, Brunswick Headquarters, Mettawa IL.
