About the role:

We are delighted to invite applications from experienced HcD Technicians to join our Mining Services Team based at George Fisher Mine, Mt. Isa

Our Hypercharge™ units are incredible pieces of machinery which are used to load blast holes with explosive chemicals, predominantly in an Underground mining environment.  Our Hypercharge™  Technicians are highly skilled and mechanically minded individuals who are responsible for providing maintenance and reliability for these charge up systems (Hypercharge™ Units).  

This position has a wide range of accountabilities; therefore, the incumbent will have a sound knowledge of Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical technical disciplines relating to fixed and mobile plant.

Preference will be given to applications from Townsville.

What you will bring

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience maintaining mobile/fixed plant is essential;
  • Previous underground operating experience is essential;
  • Having Underground Charging Experience is not mandatory, but it would be advantageous knowledge for the HCD technician position;
  • Previous exposure to Orica systems and processes is desirable;
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal;
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing.
