About Our Client

Our client is a local government authority with a diverse and extensive service offering. They have operations including works, parks and gardens, security, waste and maintenance. Due to recent management changes, they are investing in their safety function to improve outcomes for workers and stakeholders.

Job Description

· Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders, both internal and external

· Attend and host toolbox meetings to provide guidance and instruction on safety matters.

· Participate in the development and implementation of risk management programs to ensure that Line Leaders and workers are empowered and accountable in reporting and addressing WHS issues.· Lead and assist in incident investigations, return to work programs and injury management issues.

· Complete, monitor and report on actions from audits, inspections, incident investigations, reports, risk register, Work Health and Safety Committee etc.

· Undertake reporting, analysis and investigation of trends and WHS, workers compensation and injury management performance.

· Undertake audits and special projects as required.

· Promote a positive work environment that is free from discrimination, harassment and bullying.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be a proactive, people focused safety professional with a broad experience across multiple industries. They will be a strong communicator who is values-led and passionate about provide high quality service to stakeholders.

Along with this, they will have relevant safety qualifications, at a minimum Certificate IV, experience with assisting in injury management and return to work programs and a strong background in moderate to high risk work activities.
