About the Role

Are you passionate about creating and maintaining vibrant green spaces? Do you have a knack for nurturing plants and landscapes? Green Options is seeking a self-motivated and Senior Horticulturist to take the helm at our prestigious university site. This is a unique opportunity to lead a team of two, including yourself and an apprentice, allowing you to truly make this site your own.

Responsibilities

This unique position offers the rare chance to work autonomously, overseeing the maintenance and enhancement of a high profile university south of Adelaide. As the sole custodian of this site, you'll have the freedom to apply your expertise, creativity and passion to make the space truly your own.

• Operate independently, managing the garden maintenance to meet Green Options' quality standards ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
• Garden services including pruning, weeding, leaf and rubbish removal
• Identification and treatment of weeds, pests and diseases
• Planting, feeding and fertilisation of plants
• Communicate directly with the client and Contract Manager, providing updates and reports on site progress and quality
• Take responsibility for the safe operation and maintenance of all landscaping equipment

About You

• You will have a background in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens
• Qualification in Parks & Gardens or Horticulture is essential
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on high profile horticultural sites
• Holders of First Aid and AQF3 qualifications will be highly regarded
• A Working with Children Check and National Police Check are essential (or willingness to obtain)
• A White Card is required (or willingness to obtain)
• A self-starter with a vision to exceed client expectations and a drive to create beautiful, sustainable landscapes
• A true passion for gardening, combined with the initiative and leadership skills required to mentor and guide an apprentice
