Workshop Estimator

For over 50 years Dowdens Pumping and Water Treatment have been servicing Mackay and surrounds in all facets of pumps, filtration, water treatment and irrigation.

Role Overview

As part of our Industrial Workshop Team, the Estimator plays a crucial part in supporting the smooth operation of planning, execution of repairs and maintenance of a variety of pumping and water treatment equipment from a diverse range of industries.

Strong communication and customer interaction skills are integral to the role, as is the ability work with the team to provide detailed cost estimates, parts availability and timeframes for scheduling of jobs and projects.

Training and ongoing support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, part breakdowns and identify pump and pumping equipment components.
• Preparing work scopes, cost estimates and quoting repairs / replacement options for clients
• Liaising with suppliers and internal departments regarding equipment and service ordering / scheduling and coordinating external resources as required
• Ensuring clients are kept well informed of their pumping and/or water treatment equipment supply and / or repair status

Eligibility

• Have a mechanical aptitude and analytical skills
• Ability to work autonomously and unsupervised
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build porelationships

Desirable Experience

• Trade qualified / background (Mechanical / Fitter background preferred)
• Knowledge of various pumps and pumping equipment including values, pipes and pipe fittings
