The role
An exciting opportunity is available for a local technician to join our Mount Isa workshop on an 8 on 6 off roster, FIFO options out of Brisbane or Townsville for the right candidate.
This position involves delivering high-quality technical expertise and services for load and haul equipment at the Mount Isa Workshop. It also encompasses guiding and enhancing the technical skills of our in-house team in relation to these products.
Your application of a proactive approach to ensuring machine performance will assist our customers to improve their productivity and the success of their operations, ensuring that we further expand our customer base in the area and the growth of the support team. To support you, we will supply product training and the support of our dedicated products support personnel.
Areas of responsibility
- All employees and workers are required to conduct themselves in accordance with our EHS Vision to achieve Zero Harm to; our people, the environment we work in, our customers and our suppliers.
- Provide internal technical assistance to resolve issues for our customers.
- Carry out general mechanical duties, maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnosis work on all Sandvik Mining equipment (Specifically, Load & Haul equipment).
- Mentoring peers and upskilling our workshop technical knowledge of underground drills.
- Actively leading major workshop scoped works and machine builds, providing a high level of technical diagnosis and repairs.
- Performing mechanical maintenance duties as per maintenance plans while upholding the integrity of the equipment and ensuring safe operation is not compromised.
- Providing feedback for efficient maintenance planning improvements.
- Provide technical support to service personnel, providing high-level technical experience in cases of complex technical issues.
- Provide relevant feedback to the Workshop Supervisor and relevant stakeholders to enable improvements to the workshop and its capacity.
- Assist in compiling accurate data to process warranty claims for our local customers.
- Providing feedback for efficient maintenance planning improvements.
Your profile
We are seeking a seasoned professional with a Mechanical or Electrical Trade Certificate, complemented by at least 7 years post-trade experience in underground mining. Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record working in remote locations and possess a deep understanding of the diverse cultural dynamics that come with the locations. Expertise in Sandvik equipment is essential. The role requires experience in a similar position, with a strong emphasis on delivering technical training to maintenance personnel and operators.
