About North Western Program Alliance

North Western Program Alliance (NWPA) consists of five Alliance partners - John Holland, KBR, V/Line, MTM and the client (LXRP), working together as one team to achieve shared goals.

NWPA has a proven track record with the successful delivery of seven level crossing removal projects, several premium stations, three projects currently in delivery and three in development phase.

NWPA Undergraduate Program 2024

North Western Program Alliance's 2024 Undergraduate Program provides students paid on-the-job construction industry experience, whilst completing their studies. Through this, you will gain knowledge of the operations and disciplines of large-scale organisations within an Alliance, whilst we deliver several major Infrastructure and Rail Projects.

Applications are welcome from all disciplines, including:

Engineering - Civil, ElectricalBusiness - Human Resources, Finance/CommercialDesignSafetyEnvironment and Sustainability

Current Projects in delivery are site-based in Melbourne's North-West and South-East and Project's in Development are based at our office in Sunshine, VIC.

Your working hours (minimum 2 days/week) will be flexible to suit your study commitments.

Discipline specific, your responsibilities may include;

Assist in driving QA and Completion documentation completionLiaising with subcontractors to gain progress updates, quality and completion data etc.Assisting Engineers or Drafters with completion of design documentation eg. As Built Drawings, Redlines etc.Liaise with Site Supervision and provide assistance and direction when requiredAssist with some digital engineering aspects of the projectAssist more senior Engineers in delivering scopes of workFollow established procedures, gather and correlate basic data and perform routine junior engineering duties as directed

Eligibility criteria;

A 3rd or 4th year student currently studying a Bachelor's DegreeA keen interest in gaining experience in the construction industryAvailable to work at least 2 days per weekExcellent written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to work effectively in a demanding and fast-paced work environment, by prioritising tasks to meet deadlinesWell-developed organisational skills and producing work to a high standardA team player with a positive and friendly can-do attitudeCurrently hold an Australian Probationary or Full Driver's LicensePassion for developing your career with John Holland and be mentored by industry expertsAbility to travel to Project locations across Melbourne
