Position Overview

The Senior Structural Engineer will play a crucial role within the Asset Strategy Delivery Unit, overseeing the design and documentation processes for a range of structural projects, including bridges, wharves, jetties, buildings, retaining walls and other civil engineering works. This position is pivotal in achieving design excellence while meeting client expectations related to time, cost, and quality.

As a leader in the team, you will not only manage project deliverables but also provide valuable technical advice, mentor junior engineers, and engage and manage with external consultants. Your contributions will directly support the Council’s Community Strategic Plan goals, ensuring a robust and sustainable infrastructure for the Shire.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will possess a strong background in civil or structural engineering, with extensive experience in design documentation and project management of structural projects. If you are a driven leader with excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions, we would love to hear from you

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and NPER certification.
• Extensive experience in structural design documentation to Australian Standards.
• Proven leadership experience in managing technical teams.
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Building Code of Australia and local government regulations.

• Package: up to $122,000 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.
• Hours of work: Permanent full-time position 35 hours per week with 19-day flexitime offered
