The role plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business and technology which directly impacts the success and smooth functioning of IT/OT projects.

The Key Duties and Responsibilities are:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, and clients to gather and understand the requirements for a system or application and the ability to comprehend the business objectives, technical constraints, and user needs to create a robust solution.

  • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, platforms, and tools that align with the project's objectives and Arc’s Digital Strategy. Ability to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in technology to make informed decisions.
  • Build prototypes or proof-of-concept implementations to validate the feasibility of the proposed solution and to identify potential issues early on.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system administrators, database administrators, business stakeholders and project managers, to ensure a cohesive implementation of the solution.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges related to the solution's architecture, security, performance, or scalability.
  • Prepare detailed documentation of the architecture, design decisions, and implementation guidelines.
  • Analyse the performance of the solution and making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance and responsiveness and ensure the solution follows best practice for security and compliance
  • Assist project managers in estimating project timelines, identifying dependencies, and providing technical guidance throughout the project's lifecycle including budgeting and cost estimates.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Relevant formal tertiary qualifications in technology, business or equivalent.
  • Experience in delivering solutions in the rail industry will be beneficial but not essential
  • Certifications in either AWS or Azure solutions architect space will be beneficial

  • Designing Solutions: Responsible for developing various architecture diagrams to demonstrate integration between security, networking, infrastructure and data flows.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess deep knowledge of various technologies (including Microsoft Azure or AWS), platforms, and frameworks, allowing them to make informed decisions while selecting the most appropriate components for the solution.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks and challenges early in the design phase and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.
  • Security and Compliance: Responsible for implementing security best practices and ensuring that the solution adheres to relevant industry standards and frameworks such as ISO27001 and NIST including regulations to safeguard sensitive data and protect against potential threats.
  • Integration and Interoperability: Ensure that the proposed solution integrates smoothly with existing systems and technologies within the organization, promoting interoperability and data exchange.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including business executives, project managers, developers, and end-users, to gather requirements and ensure that the solution aligns with business objectives
