BAA - Certificate III in Concreting Trainer

The opportunity:

This important role will deliver training and assessment activity for students studying the Certificate III in Concreting via an on-the-job apprenticeship model.

With apprentices having their learning and assessment primarily completed at their workplaces, travel will be required to building and construction workplaces for pre-arranged training and assessment activity to be completed. All associated travel expenses will be reimbursed by the company. 

Multiple positions available as part-time or as a contractor, one to three days per week.

Key Tasks include;

  • The delivery and assessment of the Certificate III in Concreting qualification in part, or full, with a focus on completing this on-site with students;
  • Assessment of students within a Trades Training Centre environment on occasions;
  • Consulting with key clients on their existing and future workforce training needs and supporting the enrolment process for new apprentices;
  • Working with the Training Operations team to support the scheduling of on-site training and assessment activity;
  • As required - liaising with Employers, Apprenticeship Support Networks, and other stakeholders regarding the promotion of and enrolment into Apprenticeships offered, and the progress of apprentices completing their studies.

Who you are:

We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on individual who upholds the highest standards and will lead by example. Demonstrated success in a similar role within an RTO/TAFE environment and have a commitment to ensuring best practice in training and assessment is preferred, but those new to Training and Assessment are also encouraged to apply.

You will possess a keen interest in imparting your industry knowledge to those eager to learn and expand their careers as carpenters through an apprenticeship model.

It will be critical that the successful applicant can create and foster close working relationships with all key staff within the team and be able build strong relationships with students and employers. To do this they will be a good communicator, supportive and have a 'can-do' attitude.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Hold a minimum of 5 year experience working as a qualified Concreter across varied building sites and projects;
  • Hold a TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification (or be willing to undergo this qualification with the support of the company);
  • Hold a CPC30318 Certificate III Concreting  or equivalent qualifications or have sufficient and current vocational competence that would allow for a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process to be completed;
  • Hold a valid driver’s licence and vehicle to travel to building sites (with travel costs to be reimbursed);
  • Have a track record in building strong relationships with customers and employers; clients;
  • Experience in working with a high performing team within the tertiary education including a focus on Apprenticeships and Traineeships (desired);
  • Hold an operational current working knowledge of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015 (RTO Standards) in relation to training and assessment activity (desired);
  • Outstanding interpersonal & communication skills;
  • Ability to meet ASQA Fit & Proper persons requirements and not be a disallowed person under New South Wales / Queensland funding contract obligations.
