About the opportunity

We are seeking enthusiastic Cleaners who will join our valued members of the Environmental Services Department. The position will involve but not limited to general cleaning duties, waste management and carpet/hard-floor cleaning duties throughout all areas of the hospital.

  • Responsible for ensuring a clean, safe environment is maintained in compliance with Victorian cleaning standards.

  • Performing the functions of general cleaning, waste management and carpet/hard-floor cleaning in administration & general ward areas of the hospital.

  • Training and education will be provided for various cleaning equipment & transport machinery.

  • Reporting daily to the ESD General Service Supervisor.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Cleaner in a hospital setting (Desirable)

  • Availability and flexibility for shifts morning, afternoon and weekends

  • Effective communication skills and good organisational skills

  • Ability to comprehend and follow verbal/written instructions and procedures.

  • A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team.

  • Enthusiastic and a positive “can do” attitude.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • Certificate III in Cleaning Operations (Desirable)

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.

  • Current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
