A leading integrated logistics service provider located in Melbourne West is seeking a full time trade qualified, experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Laverton North.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the team of diesel mechanics are responsible for the professional maintenance and repairs of our fleet consisting of trucks, trailers and equipment.

To be successful, you will have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, be reliable, punctual, hardworking and be dedicated to working safely. You must be physically able to perform manual labour tasks, be able to follow directions and have the ability to work with minimal supervision. 

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a trade qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic 
  • Current and valid Australian driver’s license
  • Experience in diagnosing and repairing general mechanical faults 
  • Great communication skills and the ability to problem solve and troubleshoot 
  • Ability to organise own work time and prioritise work schedule
  • A sound knowledge of Safety and commitment to Safety processes and procedures 
  • Right to work in Australia (sponsorship is not available)

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, service and testing to company vehicles, trailers and equipment as per company service schedule 
  • Diagnostic and preventative maintenance and initiatives 
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including documentation of parts used and work performed.
  • Attend breakdowns (where required) 
  • Assist workshop manager and fellow team members
  • Exhibit a sound technical knowledge and experience with American or European trucks – Mack, Freightliner, or Kenworth. 
  • Take pride and care in your workmanship
