Based in West Perth or Balcatta, this role forms part of our Marine Asset Integrity (MAI) area, which will give you solid fundamental knowledge and exposure to projects in our Subsea Inspection, Repair, Maintenance (IRM) and Marine Operations portion of the business.

The Opportunity
This role forms part of our 12-week paid summer Vacation Program, that runs between November 2024 – February 2025. Fugro’s Vacation Program is a key recruitment strategy for our future Graduate offers and creates a platform and opportunity for you to gain hands on experience to determine if this career direction is for you, whilst equally showcasing your ability, motivation, and attitude to our team.
As a Vacation Student - Design Engineer, we have two areas where you could be involved in:
Option 1: Remote Operations, located in Balcatta, where you would support our teams with:
Assisting with design of ROVs (remote operated vehicles), subsea cameras, control systems, etc. (inc. software, electronics, etc.)3D modelling and design of ROV and ROV tooling componentsAssisting project engineers on remote operations projectsOption 2 : Project Design/Structural Engineering Design, located in West Perth, where you would support our teams with:
Design of steel structures, subsea installation aids, or similarPerforming design calculationsAssisting projecting engineering team as requiredAbout You

Proficient in SolidWorks or other 3D modelling softwareBe in your penultimate year of your degreeWorking knowledge of MS Word, MS ExcelGood verbal communication, interfacing and writing skillsHands on practical experience (part of motorsports team, previous trade experience, hobbyist, etc.) would be an advantageOur Values
