Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Senior Lecturer in Transport Engineering to join School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Academic Division.
The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at QUT is looking for a Senior Lecturer (Level C) in Transport Engineering for research and teaching within the Discipline of Transport Engineering. The preferred fields of research are travel behaviour, travel demand modelling, and freight movements.

What you need to succeed
- Completion of a doctoral qualification with experience in transport engineering aspects of civil engineering or a closely related field of engineering. Completion of an undergraduate engineering qualification in a closely related field of civil engineering.
- Accomplished or demonstrated leadership of research initiatives appropriate to your career stage, including a track record of successfully obtaining grants, publishing in high-quality journals and top-tier conferences, and engaging with industry.
- Synergy with the School’s and Faculty’s existing research areas in transport, including travel behaviour, travel demand modelling and freight movements.
- Demonstrated ability in teaching and learning, including scholarly and innovative approaches to teaching and learning. Ability to teach into our civil engineering undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- Demonstrated ability in the successful supervision of higher degree research students.
- Interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to develop internal and external partnerships that extend best practice and realise opportunities for teaching and research.
- Proven ability to contribute to a high performance and collaborative culture.
