ISS Facility Services is looking for an experienced Catering Manager staff to join the team in a Full Time role supporting the service delivery of an integrated facilities service offering for our client in the vehicle manufacturing and distribution industry.  The role will be based at our client’s site at Wacol, QLD. The shift on hand will vary from 6am-2pm or 8am-4pm Monday to Friday. Availability between both times strongly desired.

As the Catering Manager, your role is to oversee and efficiently manage the catering team (Café Supervisor, Chef, Café Attendants) to ensure the safe and  high-quality provision of catering services to staff, contractors and visitors using the café and canteen facilities.  By effectively managing operations and adhering to quality standards, you play a crucial role in enhancing the employee experience onsite and making it a welcoming experience for visitors.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise the weekly/daily cleaning schedule for all food and beverage locations ensuring the highest possible hygiene and cleaning standards.
  • Monitor daily kitchen food and product requirements and ensure meal volumes are recorded accurately and reported within required time frames
  • Abide by ISS and the client policy and procedures in the workplace.
  • Coordinate the recruitment process for your area of responsibility in liaison with the recruitment team
  • Manage the site induction and onboarding of new employees ensuring all employees are appropriately
  • Liaise regularly with the relevant manager regarding rosters to ensure resourcing is maintained at the appropriate levels required to meet contract service standards.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate information for the Monthly contract report and any other reporting requirements by the agreed due date.
  • Maintain a visible presence in the ‘Day of Operations’ to support our frontline team and Supervisors
  • Adapt and respond promptly to the changing requirements of the business and attend to people related matters as they arise

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated customer service focus with the ability to communicate with internal and external clients at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to liaise with clients and draft correspondence and documentation.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage workflow and priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Exhibits a strong work ethic – leads by example
  • Flexible approach to work with the ability to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced level in core Microsoft packages – particularly Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access and Outlook
  • Ability to determine resource and material requirements
  • Knowledge of safety issues relevant to trade and a strong commitment to safe working practices
  • Able to pass an Australian National Police Check

Desirable:

  • Minimum 2 years’ within the food and beverage environment
  • Good attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively alone and within a team environment including “hands on” as required to provide a quality service
  • Self-motivated, organised and able to effectively prioritise tasks
