As a data engineer you will be enabling the business by providing data, reporting and analytics solutions, through developing and supporting Data Ingestion and transformation in the Azure Enterprise Data & Analytics Platform (EDAP).
What will you be doing?
- Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using Databricks, ensuring robust data processing workflows for cleaning, transforming, and aggregating data.
- Implementing stringent measures to ensure data quality, governance, and compliance within the data lake, leveraging Databricks lifecycle management to maintain predictive models.
- Deploying and managing data solutions using Azure cloud platforms, optimising data and platform performance for maximum efficiency.
- Working closely with various business units, data analysts, and scientists to understand and meet diverse data needs, facilitating the integration and deployment of AI and ML models.
- Demonstrating the ability to anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, building partnerships and working collaboratively to achieve shared objectives.
- Developing new and innovative strategies to enhance organisational success, handle complex and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems, and focus on building member relationships while delivering customer-centric solutions.
What are we looking for in you?
- Extensive experience with Databricks, including proficiency in maintaining operational processes and predictive models through its lifecycle management, along with a strong understanding of data architecture, data modelling, and data lake concepts.
- Familiarity with Synapse, MLOps, LLM frameworks, and experience in Generative AI. Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, contributing to the integration and deployment of advanced technologies within the organisation.
- Expertise in SQL, Python, and PySpark, with significant experience in complex enterprise environments involving multiple platforms and systems. Proficiency in working with cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, and AWS, and knowledge of Azure-specific solutions like Azure Data Lake, Azure Blob, Azure SQL Database, and Azure SQL Data Warehouse.
- Skill in maintaining code migrations, monitoring, and deployment using GitHub. Experienced in CI/CD pipelines, ETL processes, data streaming, and data sharing, with familiarity in real-time data processing and integration, particularly with Microsoft and Databricks applications.
- Broad understanding of Information Management, Data Quality, Master Data Management, Data Governance, and Data Stewardship, all of which are crucial for ensuring the integrity and quality of data across systems.
- In-depth understanding of Business Intelligence and reporting concepts, with practical experience in BI toolsets, particularly PowerBI. Advanced problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and experience using REST APIs and Postman for testing and integration.
