Launceston, Australia WORK & TRAINING Full time

Under expert supervision you will learn the necessary skills to service, maintain and repair light vehicles whilst working in a small team environment. If you already have a real interest in cars, have a Certificate II pre-vocational certificate in the industry, or need to complete an automotive apprenticeship that you previously started, this opportunity is for you.

What would this involve?

  • You would be employed by Work & Training for the duration of your apprenticeship, & hosted to our valued client in Launceston.
  • Full time hours over the four years of your apprenticeship.
  • Full entitlements including four weeks of holidays per year.
  • Theory training conducted by TasTAFE – 6 x one week blocks per year.
  • You would receive mentoring and support throughout the apprenticeship.
  • You would learn the necessary skills to service, maintain and light vehicles, whilst working in a team environment.  
  • As an apprentice you will also be responsible for workshop cleaning and assisting other members of the team with servicing and problem solving.

  • Develop your capacity to follow procedures, instructions and safe work practices, and communicate in a professional manner within the work place. 
  • At the end of the apprenticeship you will be fully qualified in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.

Essential Criteria:

  • Drivers Licence.
  • Knowledge of Work Health & Safety requirements.
  • Ability to work with oils, grease, petrol & diesel.
  • A genuine interest in working on cars with prior experience highly regarded.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Certificate II in Automotive or similar VET course qualification.
