Overview

The Women’s & Children’s Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia. We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA’s largest maternity and obstetric service. 

Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.

The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Chronic Pain team as a Psychologist  in a part time  capacity,  until 8 August 2025.

As the Psychologist , you will be responsible for providing a range of pain management psychology services within the Chronic Pain Service at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, in order to achieve better health outcomes for patients and their families.

The Chronic Pain Service (CPS) is an interdisciplinary team consisting of Physicians, Psychologists (including Clinical and Health Psychologists) and Physiotherapists. The CPS employ psychologists who conduct assessments, design and implement intervention programmes, and provide therapy services to individuals with pain and their families. Psychological services are provided predominantly to outpatients, with a limited amount provided to inpatients, and may be provided as individual or group therapy.

About You

To be eligible you must have Appropriate degree (Masters of Clinical or Health Psychology) with general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia with an endorsed area of practice.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Demonstrated ability to apply specialised skills in analysing complex clinical problems and formulate and implement appropriate courses of action that can develop clinical and service provision. Experience in conducting psychological assessment and intervention with children, young people and families experiencing complex emotional, behavioural and/or cognitive difficulties. Sound theoretical knowledge in the field of clinical/health psychology.
