We are currently offering a great opportunity for a driven  Merchandise Manager  to join our team in this rich agricultural region of Northern QLD in Ingham. This critical role in the merchandise team requires you to be able to build long lasting partnerships with customers and deliver appropriate advice and services using your specialist knowledge of a variety of agricultural products and supplies.

A typical day may look like:

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for managing sales and inventory of a range of products and services, including ag chem, fertiliser and a range of other agricultural merchandise products. You will work closely with store management, agronomists, and sales teams, providing merchandise support such as stock takes, retail operations improvements, on farm meetings, technical information and mentoring to encourage improved performance. You will have input to branch budgets and manage the branch P&L. You will negotiate with suppliers and develop pricing strategies, oversee stock levels and marketing initiatives with the aim of maintaining the businesses competitive position for all lines. You will analyse market trends, climatic and seasonable considerations to ensure Nutrien Ag Solutions is first choice for rural customers in the region.

What we’ll love about you:

To be successful, experience within pricing and margin management and sales target achievement through effective category development. The ability to network and identify opportunities for business development will also be key to your success. You will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to foster solid long-term relationships with customers and key internal stakeholders together with the ability to drive business outcomes and performance. You will also have excellent communication both written and verbal. Ideally you will have exposure to SAP ERP, together with strong MS Excel for reporting. Forklift required, and heavy rigid licence will be highly advantageous.
