The Opportunity

With just five minutes apart from each other, The Oaks Retirement Village (in Fulham) and Leisure Court Retirement Village (in Fulham Gardens) have an opportunity for a dedicated Maintenance Officer to join their team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair tasks around our retirement village. Working closely with the Community Manager, you will ensure our buildings, grounds and fixtures are well-maintained and presentable. The ideal candidate needs to be friendly, approachable to residents, have the ability to work autonomously and have general maintenance or 'handyperson' experience. You'll enjoy spending time outdoors, connecting with residents and the ability to work autonomously.

This is a permanent full-time position working Monday-Friday 8-4pm based at The Oaks Retirement Village, with two-half days spent at Leisure Court Retirement Village

You will

  • You will attend to various maintenance requests to create a safe and pleasant environment for residents, visitors, staff and others
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure projects undertaken are safe, timely and completed to a high standard
  • Oversee maintenance work undertaken by Contractors within the community
  • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks around the community as per schedules 
  • Be a friendly face to the residents and work alongside a fantastic team
  • Please note - this is not a gardening role (Maintenance Officer) 

What you'll bring

  • A warm & caring personality with an interest to make a difference every day 
  • Experience in General Maintenance and 'Handyperson' roles (highly desired)
  • Current Police Check certificate (required, but if you do not possess, we can complete for you)
  • Valid driver's licence and Two (2) COVID-19 Vaccinations (required)
