Conducting rail equipment component installation and general maintenance

UGL's Manufacturing & Maintenance business have experience growth are looking for Mechanical Fitters to join our Locomotive New Build team based at our facility in Broadmeadow Newcastle.

These roles will be offered on a permanent full-time basis, they will be working day shift on a 9-day fortnight Monday – Thursday 5.30am – 2.30pm, every second Friday off and the Friday you do work is 5.30am – 1.30pm.

About the role

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager this role will see you working on a Locomotive new build line conducting rail equipment component installation and general maintenance as well as servicing and general workshop duties as required.

About You

·         Australian recognised trade certificate and hold a Certificate of Proficiency – Mechanical

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·         Reliable & punctual.

·         General rail and locomotive experience is desirable but not a necessity.

·         Commitment to a safe work environment and practices.

·         Ability to interpret schematics and production drawings.

·         Work autonomously and in a team environment.

·         Focused on quality work & customer service excellence.

·         Forklift license is desirable but not a necessity.

·         Work cover overhead crane licence desirable but not a necessity.
