About the program
The Carer Gateway Services have been created in the context of national reforms and represent an exciting new era for the delivery of innovative carer services. In 2010 the Carer Recognition Act was legislated and contained 10 principles detailing how Carers in our community should be treated in policy, programs and service delivery. In 2011, a National Reform of Carer Services was announced. As part of this reform, the Carer Gateway Service Project was established in 2018 and Wellways were involved in developing and Self- Guided and Facilitated Coaching and the In-person Peer Support Program for the national service.
About the opportunity
Accordingly, a key focus of this role is to further develop the NSW Carer Gateway team, Wellways Carer Gateway reputation/brand and expand and diversify our service offer in the area.
Reporting to the National Manager Service Delivery, the Service Manager performs several key leadership and management functions, including:
- Nurturing and developing a capable and committed team
- Providing leadership in the management and development of best practice service delivery across the Carer Gateway program
- Ensuring that program financial objectives and contractual KPIs are met
- Developing Wellways Carer Gateway profile and presence in the area as a leading provider of carer services
- Embedding Wellways values and practice principles in everything that we do
- Leading local responses to emerging risks and opportunities
- Delivering against Activity Work and Community Engagement Plans
Additional responsibilities of the Service Manager role include:
- The achievement of funder specific targets
- Reporting against program targets and objectives
- Developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships including alliances and partnerships
- Collaborate with Wellways Regional Manager to ensure all programs within the region integrate seamlessly
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary Qualifications in a social science or related discipline or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience working within at least one of the Caring, Mental Health, Community, Disability or Health Sciences Sectors
- A minimum of 2 years management experience
- Right to work within Australia
- Current valid Driver’s Licence and the ability to undertake some travel
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- Satisfactory National Police Records Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children's Check
